Traditional Golden Paste is typically made with coconut oil. While some studies show positive health benefits, other studies show contradicting information. Coconut oil contains over 80% saturated fat, which has been linked with cardiovascular and other diseases. While coconut oil can raise HDL ("good" cholesterol), it also raises LDL ("bad" cholesterol). They pretty much cancel each other out and leave us with a pretty neutral food item that should only be used in moderation.
The main components responsible for the health benefits of coconut oil are the MCT's (medium chain triglycerides). MCT oil contains medium-length chains of fats called triglycerides. Due to their shorter length, MCTs are digested faster than longer-chain fatty acids found in many other foods.Â
Extracted from mature coconuts, our MCT Oil powder is convenient, high-quality, plant-based nutrition that is easily absorbed by the body as a potent energy source. MCT oil contains Lauric Acid, an important form of MCT that acts as a slower burning fuel source. This is an excellent complement to the faster burning C8 and C10 chains (37% and 24% respectively), allowing for sustained energy. We've added acacia fiber as the carrier for drying the oil for an optimized digestive experience.

INGREDIENTS: organic turmeric root powder, organic MCT oil powder, organic black pepper fruit powder
INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: organic gum acacia (used as carrier for MCT oil only)
FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS: Mix with a meal daily
Up to 40 pounds......1/4 tsp – 1 & 1/4 tsp
41-80+ pounds......1 & 1/4 tsp – 1 Tbsp
Half Batch:
1/2 Cup water
1/2 Cup Golden Hour Mix
Full Batch:
1 Cup water
1 Container Golden Hour Mix
Simmer water and powder mixture together on low heat until a thick paste forms (approx. 1-3 minutes). Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks.
